My Project

My students this year are particularly amazing! They work hard and reflect on their learning. Last week we made podcasts on imperialism and decolonization in diverse places like Hawaii, Nigeria, Egypt, and the Philippines. Students really want to learn and do well. However, especially in the last class before lunch, students struggle to stay focused on school work.

Students learn better when they know they have consistent access to food.

Some students struggle to get to school on time, so they miss breakfast. The class before lunch runs through almost the whole noon hour. Knowing they are able to eat helps students stay focused on learning and not on their bellies.
