This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
These are unprecedented times—COVID-19! Never did I imagine that when my students and I said "See you soon" in March, it would mean that it was maybe our last day in the classroom for the school year 2019-2020. However, the year is not over yet, and we still are charged to educate the students to the best of our ability!
Children can't learn if they are hungry!
We were in school like a normal day not knowing what was to come. We thought we would be out for a few days. My students are missing out on sure meals daily- breakfast, and lunch and for many supper!
My Project
With this project, I will be able to add easy to make food items to the "Feel Good" bags that I will distribute to students while they are learning from home. Most importantly though, I’ll be able to provide much need composition notebooks and pencils for them to use while completing their baker based work packets. The masks and gloves will add the protection that they need if they have to venture outside their homes.
I know they will be forever grateful for these donations.

Imagine going throughout your day with a rumbling stomach and nothing to eat. I could not and so I'd love my students to have something to eat while being QUARANTINED at home! I want them all to succeed even while we are away from each other!
