Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hartford Public Schools is dedicated to supporting teen parents, including both mothers and fathers, by helping them overcome daily challenges. These challenges may include barriers that prevent them from attending school, such as food insecurity. The SPPT program aims to foster healthy student relationships by connecting teen parents with community resources to address obstacles like food insecurity for both parent and child. Donations of snacks are crucial in supporting teen parents and their babies.
The snacks will be beneficial for students who bring their children to our Little Owls daycare center, which is located directly within the school, eliminating childcare barriers and encouraging teen parents to attend school.
