This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from all kinds of backgrounds and families. Some come to school without the food resources to get through a very long school day! Having snacks in my classroom not only satisfies physical hunger, but it creates an atmosphere of care and compassion. I also need to restock feminine hygiene products in my room.

I request snacks for my classroom several times a year because I know from experience that it makes a difference to my students, and by extension, to the school and all the students with whom I interact.

Your gift to my project will help me to be able to say "YES!" when kids come by my room, asking if I have anything they can eat during the day! I'd like to finish the year strong by having a good supply to get us through the hectic last quarter of the school year, which includes testing and exams!
