Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach seventh-grade English Language Arts in a middle school in NYC. My students reflect the diversity of NYC and the majority are from low-income households. They represent the best of NYC. Despite being from different cultures, they all understand that we are more alike than different.
My Project
Providing my students with healthy snacks will give them the needed boost to help them through a long day. They need a break from wearing their masks all day and a reward for working hard and learning. This project will allow me to give my students some extra nourishment that they often times do not get at home. Most of my students are recent immigrants and their families cannot afford to buy snacks in addition to their regular groceries.
