My students come from all sorts of home environments, some of which, unfortunately, do not always have enough food at home. Even though many of these students receive free breakfast and lunch while at school, they are growing kiddos and often have grumbly tummies before they head home.
I want to support my students' academics by taking away the distraction of hunger as often as possible.
Although some students are able to get plenty of breakfast each morning, and even pack snacks to eat throughout the day, many cannot! I want to make sure there are snacks available for any students who need them.
