This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I truly appreciate the resilience and enthusiasm my students bring to their daily activities, despite the challenges they may face. Many of these students arrive at school hungry, which significantly impacts their mental health, concentration, and overall mood. Hunger can lead to dehydration, apathy, and decreased self-esteem, creating obstacles to their learning and engagement.
To support their mental wellness, I am requesting funding for nutritious snacks.
Providing these snacks will address their hunger, helping to stabilize their mood and improve their focus and participation in class. When students are well-nourished, they are better able to concentrate, engage in learning activities, and participate fully in their physical education and other classes.
My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel cared for and are able to perform at their best. By addressing their basic needs, we can enhance their emotional well-being, boost their self-esteem, and improve their academic performance.
What makes my students special is their determination and willingness to succeed despite facing challenges. By providing them with the necessary support through these snacks, we can help them overcome barriers and thrive in their educational journey.
