My Students
My students are in person 4th graders. They are diverse, caring, and loving. These students have many reasons for needing extra care academically, socially, and emotionally. Ninety-eight percent of the students at our school are at poverty level. A good portion of my classroom are minority students. These students and their families have been affected by covid financially and emotionally. As a new educator I want to help my students be the best that they can be throughout the day.
My Project
Students who come to school need to feel safe, cared for and all too often, they need to be fed, to have their basic needs, met. That is the reality we as teachers face each and every day. Often times they can not spare from their home pantry for snack time here at school. That is where this project helps to fill that gap.
Being able to provide them with a snack each day helps them to know that they are loved and cared for, while also taking that worry away from them.
