I have the honor of working with and educating some dynamic 8th-grade students! My students are very energetic and enjoy learning especially through engaging and interactive activities. My students are some strong and inspiring individuals that strive for continued excellence despite their economic hardships that many of them fight through daily. Their strength and aspiration to master content are evident through their classroom engagement and limitless effort to work hard in class. My students are champions and I am so proud and honored to be their teacher!
My Project
My students are preparing to take the End-of-Grade state assessments. My goal is make sure all of my students are provided with a small breakfast item (i.e. pop tart, cereal bar, fruit snack, etc.) to ensure that they are focused and ready to engage in the assessment without the distraction of feeling hunger or parched. This project will provide my students with snacks and juice (i.e. orange, grape, or capri sun) each morning of testing prior to entering into test mode. Having these snacks and juice available in the classroom will also eliminate the embarrassment that some of my students encounter from being hungry but scared to ask for food in fear of what others may say or think. In my classroom my students will have the confront of knowing they can ask or retrieve a snack from the snack bin prior to testing without feeling judged or ashamed!
