Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the new school year begins so does my classrooms need for materials, art supplies, and snacks. This year I have added a variety of snacks to my cart in the hopes that this project is funded so I can have the ability to provide something extra to my students. MS 50 is a title 1 school meaning that over 90% of students receive free and reduced lunch or are in some way affected financially.
Being able to provide snacks on a need basis is something that will allow my students to feel safe and comfortable in the room.
Outside of basic need I use snacks as prize motivators. Students who come for extra help, participate, and help clean up the art space receive points that they can cash in for snacks. This way it is available to all students in all of my classes across grade levels.
