Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My school is an innovative school. This means that our school family has been given the chance to provide our students with more meaningful and rigorous learning opportunities. The majority of scholars at my school receive free and/or reduced lunch and breakfast.

Many students who walk into my classroom are often times hungry.

I am dedicated to building a rapport with my students and, I strive to put their needs first. I want to meet those needs by providing scholars with the comfort of meeting their basic needs.

There is nothing worse than having an empty stomach when you have a big test to take! When your belly is full, so is your academic potential! Students should only need to worry about the task in front of them, instead of when lunch is (a question that I am asked numerous times per day).

Being able to provide my students with a snack like a granola bar before a test, will help them boost their academic performance.

Students will provide the proper nutrients to their brains, so it is functioning at the highest level. Snacks will help my scholars do their best and demonstrate what they have learned.
