This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is unique in that we are a PreK3 to 12th grade, year around school. Our school is in session for almost a complete calendar year. We also have a long school day from 8:15am until 4pm. This is a long day especially for some of our younger students.
It is a long school day, and for our lower school students lunch starts as early as 10 am.
We ask that all of the lower school students bring a snack to each day. However, not all of our students can afford to bring snack daily, but we can not let them go hungry.
My Project
Our students will be able to focus on what is important at school and not worry about being hungry as the day comes to an end. This is important for achieving academic excellence and making sure each student get the most out of every school day. Research shows that a healthy snack can help students stay alert and energized in the classroom.
By having a snack at the end of each day our students will get the energy they need in order to stay focused through out the entire day.
This will allow them to reach their full potential and be the amazing TRAILBLAZERS we all know they are.
