This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are resilient, loving, caring and over all hard workers. During covid it has been challenging not only for us as teachers but for our students. However, the majority of my students do their best and work hard to be in our virtual classrooms. Many of my students come from single parent homes, from the Caribbean and Latin America. Though they have difficulties and language barriers they are very eager to learn and be successful.
My Project
My students are amazing! But they are struggling in a pandemic and are having difficulty coping. They want to work hard and strive to succeed and participate every day! I have been creating prize and reward stations where students are receiving a prize for their hard work to boost their confidence and keep them working hard!
I am requesting snacks for our rewards snack closet during Math and Science.
By restocking my snack closet, students can choose candy or chips as a prize on days where they are trying their hardest that keeps them motivated and happy coming to school each day!
It changes their entire mood to earn a prize for their hard work! We are a STEM school and also earn prizes in order to complete our assignments that deal with science technology engineering and mathematics!
