Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am infinitely grateful to have been given the opportunity to teach 20 beautiful and brilliant minds. My classroom is filled with energetic, passionate, and thoughtful students. The knowledge, languages, and cultural diversity they bring into the classroom creates a dynamic learning environment.
My class is unique because of the energy and curiosity my students bring to school every day.
They are scientists, writers, readers, mathematicians, and historians; they can and will do anything and everything. Please help me give my students what they need!
My Project
Many of my students and their families struggle with food scarcity. Therefore, they arrive to school ready to eat. Although our school provides us with snacks, they are oftentimes eaten by the end of the day (even though they have to last us for a week) and/or lack variety.
I am launching this project in order to provide my students with snacks that they want to eat and will gain energy from.
Humans have a few fundamental needs in order for rigorous learning to occur. One of these needs is adequate food. I want to provide my students with the food that they need so that they can focus on the important stuff---learning.
