My Project

My ninth-grade students live in the financially poorest county in North Carolina, but in an area with some of the richest diversity. Most, if not all, of my students qualify for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. Attending school is the only time some students get to eat; they cannot depend on having food at home.

When several of my students stay after school for tutoring (or they just need a quiet place to finish their math assignments), they are often hungry.

Please help me provide them a snack so that they can focus on their work and finish each day strong. www.donorschoose.org supporters helped us fund a Keurig and electric kettle for our classroom, and I still continue to purchase what I can from my own pocket, but more and more students need these snacks.
