Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school. My students face challenges every day, in and out of the classroom. It is my job to make sure my students have the necessary materials to develop a lifelong love of learning in a safe and engaging classroom where they can feel successful.
Despite the 95% of students who are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch and the hardships my students face on a daily basis, they are creative, full of energy, and eager to learn every day.
My Project
This year is going to be so crazy with COVID 19! I am looking to get my kids snacks and treats for the classroom. This year in order to have a snack, each snack needs to be individually wrapped. I am looking to get things like goldfish and crackers to help my kids focus during the school day. I also am asking for a few treats because my kids deserve to have a treat every once in a while. Many of my students have food insecurity and cannot afford to bring snack to school. I would love the opportunity to have them available for all my kids each day.
