This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am an ESL teacher and coordinator in a very diverse school that has a lot of newcomer students from all over the world, like Spanish, Bengali, Chinese, and many more. Many of these students come from very difficult living situations, including shelters or temporary housing, so basic needs such as food is hard to come by.
I would love to have this project filled because my students deserve a safe space to come and grab a snack to help get them through the day.
Being fed and not being hungry is a basic need. How can we expect students to learn if their basic needs are not met?
