Snacks for College Success

Help me give my students healthy snacks. I work with AVID students; this group is historically underrepresented in higher education, and we're working to support them in achieving their goal of attending college after high school.

My Project

Kids need fuel to learn and go above and beyond! We want to provide our students with healthy snacks, so they're able to learn in the classroom and stay after school to participate in after-school activities and study.

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a college preparatory program for students who are historically underrepresented in post-secondary education; our program supports these students in achieving their goal of attending and being successful in college.

Our students work hard to build their best possible future. Many of our students are the first to attend college in their family, show economic need, and/or belong to a group that is historically underserved in college.

The mission of AVID is to ensure that ALL students, and most especially the least served students who are in the middle:

-Will succeed in rigorous curriculum.

-Will complete a rigorous college preparatory path.

-Will enter mainstream activities of the school.

-Will increase their enrollment in four-year colleges.

-Will become educated and responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society.
