Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Although the school year has just started, my new bunch of third graders are the sweetest. They are polite, amazing listeners, and try really hard to excel!

This year, our lunch is a bit later than what my students are used to and usually by mid morning, their stomachs are growling.

They are often distracted by the hunger and therefore, it is hard for them to focus on the lesson.

We are hoping the materials in this project will help lessen this problem.

Although we asked parents to provide their child with a snack, not all families are able to prioritize and afford to give him or her a snack on a daily basis. Unfortunately, snacks can be quite expensive and on the list of demands, they end up on the bottom of the list for many of our families.

I know I learn best when my tummy is satisfied. I would want this opportunity for ALL of my students. Food is a necessity and a hungry tummy is the last thing I would want any of students to worry about.
