This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

More students than ever are coming to school hungry and asking for snacks. Teachers like me have been mostly funding these snacks from our own paychecks, but as more and more families become food insecure, I am unable to keep up with the demand.

It’s hard to learn on an empty stomach, listening to your stomach growling over the day’s lessons.

Help me provide my students with the nutritional support they need in order to get their brains primed for learning. The snacks such as the applesauce and cookies that I have chosen are popular with students and are the most often requested during class.
