My Students
I am a school social worker at an elementary school in an urban school district. My students come from diverse backgrounds. The majority of students at our school qualify to receive free or reduced-priced lunch.
Our students face many barriers to achieving academic success.
Many of our students face significant challenges including experiencing or witnessing trauma. A lack of coping skills can lead to challenging behaviors that have to be addressed at school. Often our students need assistance with managing self-control and anger, strengthening social skills, and building self-esteem.
My Project
My students are returning to school and that means stocking up on snacks!
This project will fund snacks and treats for my students.
These snacks will be used for my students that will be returning to in-person learning for the first time this school year. Our students often come to school hungry and are not able to bring snacks from home. These snacks will help them focus on school and I'll also use snacks help motivate students or reward them for a job well done! Thank you for supporting our students!
