Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Snacks play a vital role as incentives for students during the second semester of school by addressing physiological needs, reinforcing positive behavior, fostering community, reducing stress, and leveraging principles of motivational psychology. By incorporating snacks into the learning environment thoughtfully and inclusively, I can enhance student engagement, promote academic success, and create a supportive atmosphere conducive to learning and growth.
I need help motivating my students by providing snacks, writing utensils, and motivational stickers.
The majority of my students come from low-income hardworking families. They are a diverse group in an inner-city school. The majority of my students receive free or reduced-price lunches. Regardless of their background, I want to make sure that all of my students receive the support that they need to do well on their final exams. I tutor them after school and on Saturdays to help them prepare better. Since the cafeteria is closed during these times, I would like to keep snacks in my classroom to provide to students when needed.
This positive reinforcement can significantly boost students' self-esteem and confidence, leading to greater overall academic success. Snacks can serve as a much-needed break and a source of relaxation amidst the rigors of academic pressure. Taking short snack breaks allows students to recharge mentally and emotionally, reducing stress levels and promoting overall well-being. Your assistance and kindness are very much appreciated.
