Snacks and Treats to Decrease School Hunger

Help me give my students snacks and food to help keep them fed and energized throughout the school day.

My Project

During the 2024-2025 school year, I had 2-3 projects for snacks to keep in the counseling office for all students to have access to throughout the day. There is a high number of hungry students, even after eating the free school lunch.

Many of our students are unable to afford additional school lunch or snacks for the day, so having extra food items available for them will help decrease their hunger so they can focus better in class.

Many students also stop by for end-of-day snacks to have before a sporting practice or game, or for a field trip, or rehearsal, and by having multiple snack options available, there is always something for everyone.

As school staff, we know that hunger affects a student's ability to focus and learn; therefore, I find it extremely important to change that by continuing to offer snacks in my office.
