Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project's main purpose is to create a clean, healthy, and safe learning environment for my high school students. Tissues, paper towels, and cleaning wipes will be utilized daily to keep the classroom sanitary, especially during this flu and cold season. The art supplies and writing utensils are to be used daily in class during lessons. I always keep a stack of coloring pages in the back of my classroom because students enjoy borrowing my class tools to color during their free time. Coloring has been proven to calm the body and relieve stress, so I always encourage my students to practice art in class. The Stories with Holes books are filled with riddles that I use in the class to encourage students to think creatively. Sensory boards and calm balls will be used to support my restless, leg-shaking students during content-heavy lessons. They will be able to use those tools to release energy and anxiety in a healthy way.
