Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every student in my school receives free breakfast and lunch. We are located in a high needs area of Chicago.

My classroom currently serves students with the highest needs in regards to cognitive impairment, behavior, adaptive or functional skills, and life skills.

We tailor our classroom to meet each student’s individual needs and goals. We ensure that all of our students have an opportunity to learn and grow to their individual fullest potential. Our ultimate goal is for our students to be integrated members of their community.

My Project

We are excited to return to the school year after our winter break. We are in needs of snacks and drinks. We are requesting Capri Suns, Crystal Light squeeze for water bottles, baked chips in a a variety of flavors, popped chips in a variety of flavors, and a variety pack of pretzel crisps. We have snack time daily in the afternoon and often send these items home with students who may have to go without for the night or over an extended weekend. We try to offer a variety of choices to increase independence when making a preferred snack food choice.
