Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students attend a Title I elementary school. Most of them are bilingual, speaking English only at school. Many parents/families work two or three jobs to provide the basic necessities at home. They want the best education for their children and to help them as much as they can. My students are hard-working, curious kids. They enjoy all hands-on activities and have a variety of interests. Our class works well together and enjoys helping each other learn.
My students eat lunch at 11:00 am, so each day by the afternoon, they are hungry.
These fruit snacks, chips, and cookies will help them refuel their bodies and give them the energy they need to finish the day. It will help them remain focused on their work, not their rumbling tummies. I have offered these snacks in previous years, and it has helped so much. The students are grateful to receive a snack and feel special that others want them to succeed in their academic careers.
