My Students
Each year, I welcome a wonderful group of amazing, energetic, and hands-on second grade scholars. Although they come from a high poverty background, they all work as a team to motivate and encourage one another academically, socially, and emotionally. It is always so heartwarming to see them grow together as a family. Our classroom is a place where students know it is okay to make mistakes and that everyone can succeed if given the chance.

My school is a Pre-K-8 building, where 100 percent of the scholars receive a free or reduced breakfast and lunch. Many of my scholars come from single parent homes where food and proper clothing is scarce. Several of my friends this year are homeless. Once my friends fill their stomachs; they are ready to come to class and fill their brains with knowledge. Each scholar works to meet his/her academic potential with support from myself and their peers.
My Project
These wonderful snacks will be given to my students on a daily basis to give them that extra focus during testing time. My second graders get hungry during their long days in class. These Cheez Its, cookies, and pretzels will help them get through the long day. Please help us make this a comfortable learning environment for my students. They would be so excited to have these snacks in class or to take them home and enjoy them as they do their homework. My students also love to snack as they read their AR books.
