Our multi-age classroom is a community of learners and growers. We spend two years with our students, guiding them and watching them blossom. We emphasize working together and being a community. Students help one another and learn in the best way, by teaching others.
Our students are an amazing and diverse group of third and fourth graders.
They come from high poverty areas. School is often their comfort place and provides food, as well as stability. The school is Title I funded. Our classroom is like a community, and we want the students to feel comfortable and safe while learning.
My Project
Many of our students come from low income families. They are busy and sometimes stretched thin. Kids are always hungry and it’s extremely beneficial for them to have snacks so they can stay focused and full. With the help of these snacks, parents won’t have to worry about trying to provide snacks or running to the store when they are out. My students absolutely love cheese it’s and fruit snacks. The Pop tarts and cereal will make it possible to have a breakfast. Having these readily available will make sure all 50 of our students never go without a snack. We also like to use the water for bottles that they can refill and use for a while. These snacks will help keep them feel safe and secure without worry of when they will be able to eat. A full tummy is a successful one !
