My Students

My students come into the school full of excitement. Before they enter the classroom, they are prompt with telling me the answer to a multiplication or division problem to get their brains ready for all the new and exciting material of the day.

I teach at a Title I school in Tempe, Arizona.

We try to provide as much support to our students as possible. Some students receive lunch bags sent home for the weekend and others are getting extra tutoring after school, as well as tutoring during school. Although my students face hardships outside of school, they try their best to keep positive and be the best they can be.

My Project

I am asking the donors to help me provide snacks for my students. School starts at 7:50 AM every day and we don't get lunch until 11:35 AM. I myself start to get hungry around 9:30 so I know that the kids are hungry as well.

I also notice that their energy level is affected.

Children burn energy faster than adults so being fueled throughout the day will help give them the nutrients they need for their growing bodies. Once they have eaten a snack and gotten their energy levels up it will help with their focus in class. This will help them to perform better on assignments and tests.
