My Project
Food can be interlinked with childhood trauma in children who have experienced neglect or gone hungry. We want to provide a feeling of safety regarding food. We are restocking our breakfast/snack pantry to ensure our students know their physical needs will always be met.
When children eat regularly scheduled nutritious snacks and meals, blood sugar levels remain constant, allowing optimal learning and regulating behavior opportunities.
Our breakfast/snack pantry is open to students in need, no questions asked. If they come in late to school and need breakfast, it will be there. If they forget their lunch or lunch money, it will be there. If they cannot afford a snack or forget theirs at home, it will be open to them!
