Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a class of energetic, enthusiastic, and amazing students! Our school is a Title I school where most students come from low-income or poverty-stricken homes or may live in a motel. All of the students receive free or reduced-rate lunch. Most are English Language Learners, while some have special needs. These students come to school eager to learn every day with big smiles on their faces, regardless of their circumstances. I want to help my students in every way that I can in order for them to be successful in reaching their goal of developing their skills, and of course, have fun!

After being with my class for over two months, I can honestly say I have an amazing group of students!

We have already learned so much from each other and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the school year will bring. I wanted to do something special for them each month so when I asked what they would like, the majority said snacks. Sadly, since I only get paid monthly and live on a fixed budget, it has become very difficult for me to make this happen.

I want to celebrate my students "awesome-ness" at the end of each month with a mini snack party! My students are so amazing, especially when it comes to encouragement. They always support and congratulate each others' accomplishments. They make me proud everyday! The snacks will include: Pringles, fruit snacks, assorted chips, goldfish crackers, Oreo cookies, and juice pouches.
