This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This school year, our students are eager to learn and be ready for success. We continue to implement PBIS points in classes. Students can choose what reward they want when they reach a certain number of points. We surveyed the students and the majority stated they want chips for their reward. These snacks will also be used for snack time when the students are hungry.
The lunch portions are small which result in students still being hungry.
The snacks will help them to remain focused and energized during school. The snacks will ensure students will be successful in school because they will have brain food. Students need snacks and treats to remain focused in class. Snacks can help encourage concentration and re-energize tired students. The snacks are those that the students like and the candy will help boost their energy.
Our students respond well to this incentive. We try to have snacks and additional food available for them to earn with their behavioral points in order to keep their motivation up.
The response to this incentive has been amazing with the students.
Today, I gave all four classes Takis because of positive behavior. Now, I am running low and need help purchasing more so I can continue this incentive.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
