My Project

I coach kids daily on leadership in mathematics that leads to better ways to prep for their college and careers. Opening doors to math is the best way to prepare them with life skills that will lead to success. This happens daily in our math class as we talk about careers and their future leadership skills.

I use a currency in my classroom that they can use to purchase other options to learn financial literacy skills as well.

My kids seemed to do better when I had items available. They use Fitzhugh bucks that they earn for academic excellence to purchase much-loved treats as well. My students are all preparing to be college and career-ready. They are tackling financial leadership skills so they can be ready for the real world. This is where it starts! I try to help lead my students to learn life skills that will help them prepare for any college or career path they choose. The constant supply of snacks in our snack bin helps my students stay focused during math class so they can learn those college and career skills they will need in the future. The candies are store items that will help with our financial literacy unit, which tracks all year with our Fitzhugh bucks. This not only helps them with leadership but also helps them dabble in different career options as they continue into high school. The special cookies are a treat before spring break. Each of my students will get one, and the rest will be used in our community. All of these skills, in and out of the classroom, help create citizens.
