This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 8th graders are starting the Math SBA in two weeks and they're extremely nervous. My goal is to have a snack for all my students before the test. They're going to be testing for about 4 days and I want to have a snack for them everyday. Many of the students don't like the school breakfast or lunch and having a granola bar and a juice will help have something in their belly. A snack is always comforting and research shows that students who have food before a test perform better. It is extremely important for them to stay focus, some of these test are long and challenging.

My 8th graders are extremely bright, humble, appreciative and always hungry.

I want to make state testing less stressful for them. They deserve to have a break and have something to eat to make them feel better.
