This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Raise your hand if you've ever felt extra tired, irritated, or angry when you've been hungry. Our school days are long and packed with learning. Just like us, our students lose focus when they're hungry.
By providing healthy snack options, the students will better be able keep their attention on learning.
Our students come from a low socioeconomic area, and they don't always have access to healthy snacks. My goal with this project is to supply them with brain power.
Students have many needs, and though it isn't my 'job' to feed them, I strive to provide them with as much help as possible. Being able to have a snack can help their academics, and also their emotions.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
