Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Every day, our classroom has a designated snack time. I have many students who rely on an afternoon snack to keep their energy up and to help them focus on their school work. Some families are able to provide a snack for their own child, but a large majority of my population cannot afford this extra expense.

Studies show that children who have access to food, preform significantly higher on academic tasks than children who do not.

My students need these snacks to help them stay energized and focused throughout the school day. Having access to a bag of popcorn, fruit cup, organic fruit snack, Go-Go Squeeze pouch or other snacks will allow my students to fill their stomachs while simultaneously allowing them not to feel ostracized from their classmates who are able to afford such luxuries.

Please help feed my students so they can live up to their potential!
