Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When students do not eat, the hunger distracts them from learning. Hunger leads to a lack of focus which can lead to disruptive behavior. Whether it is because the student does not have food security or because they ran late to school, I want to support their learning.

I want to provide food to promote thought.

I plan to have a food cabinet for students who are hungry because they don't have enough food at home in conjunction with our backpack program as well as students who just did not get a chance to eat that day.

Our students are prideful and hard-working, so the food will also be used as a reward for good citizenship, work completion, and good behavior. The food will be used to help students focus through minimizing hunger as well in student growth, both academically and behaviorally.
