This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The coronavirus pandemic has truly affected my classroom because it has disrupted the whole teaching and learning environment. Most of my students live in a low-income/high-poverty school district with close to 100% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch and about 20% are living in one of the four shelters around our school.
Students perform better on a full stomach; I want my students to have the things they need to work comfortably and be successful; most of all, I want them to be energized and motivated.
My Project
Work, work, and more work! This is what my students are faced with each day as they prepare for state tests and class assessments. It is hard for them to continue each day with the challenges that come with hard work. Each day is a long day for them and they always enjoy a snack break.
My students work hard throughout the day and they deserve to be rewarded for their hard work, as well as obtain a snack break.
All kids enjoy having a treat or something to put a smile on their faces. I want to reward them to make them feel motivated and excited to learn. I don't want the frustration to build up and the performance to decrease.
Ring pops, Gatorade, chips, and other snacks will do the trick for me. I want to reward them continuously! They get excited when they are told to get a snack from the snack box. Being told to do this will also give them a recharge to continue working feeling full and happy.
