Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My classroom this year is made up of 20 bubbly second grade boys and girls who are ready to enter a world of learning. These bright and bubbly scholars are - Bold, Loving, Accountable, Zealous, Empathetic and always ready to blaze the trails towards success.

They beam with joy at the beginning of each day, and their faces still beam with joy at the end of the day despite the challenges they face every day due to their environment.

My hope is that I will have an impact on their lives that will give them confidence and allow them to be college and career ready scholars.

My Project

Having access to snacks is essential for students to learn and feel secure in the classroom. I never want my students to worry about not having access to food, so I always make sure I have snacks available for every student.

Students cannot learn when they are worried about when they will eat.

I believe that with the proper fuel and security my students can shatter the limits set for them based on where they live and the poverty they come from. I believe they can achieve greatness and begin to function out of a place of security instead of scarcity.
