Help me give my students snacks and drinks to help them stay focused in class. It is hard for them to focus on academics when they are dealing with hunger pains.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have so little and I want to give them so much more. All of the students here come from homes below the poverty line, and I want them to have the chance to experience something that can influence their lives.
My students come from broken homes, homeless shelters, the projects, and worse.
We have a huge population of immigrant students, as well, and I want them to be exposed to as much as possible so that they don't fall behind in their future educational endeavors. They take public transportation, buses, and trains to and from one of the most dangerous corners in this city. Most of them have limited or no access to computers and the Internet outside of our school. Their home lives are crowded and so are their classrooms. Many of our students view coming to this public school as a way to escape their home lives. We try our best to provide students with access to diverse, fun learning programs, but with major budget cuts, we can no longer afford to fund student-centered projects. It has become increasingly difficult to offer character building education services to our large population of students with special needs.
My Project
It positively destroys me to be creating this project. My school is designated as "high poverty" but, I'm pretty sure if you're reading this, you don't really know what that means. Since I’ve been at this school, I've seen students come to class in the same dirty clothes day after day. I've seen students who felt embarrassed because they knew they smelled bad but couldn't do anything about it. I've had students ask me if they could stash extra lunches in my office fridge so they could take them home later because they knew they had nothing in the kitchen at home. Often time’s student’s come into my office saying that their stomach hurts because they haven’t had anything to eat.
To say my students are disadvantaged is a horrible understatement.
My heart breaks daily because some of the kids I count as my own come to school every day because they know they can count on getting two meals here. Some of them even come from group homes because their parents have disappeared and/or given up on them. This project will provide the students of my school with the basic life essentials that you and I take for granted. I'm asking for food...FOOD...that they can take home for dinner because they don't have anything there. All the fancy Chromebooks and arts and craft supplies in the world can't replace a full stomach.
