Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a STEM-based charter school with 74% of our students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunches. Recently, we also became a Blue Zone School which focuses on movement and making healthy choices. The families we serve really want what is best for their kids and trust me as their teacher to help make those decisions.

The students in my classroom are struggling readers and may not have the resources at home that I can help provide in the classroom.

I encourage the students to express themselves in their work and apply it to real-life situations. I use cooperative learning strategies and encourage freedom of movement.

My Project

Granola bars are a great snack to keep my students full and focused. Students get hungry throughout the day and need to have a healthy snack that is easy to eat in class. My students don't always have snacks provided to them.

When students are hungry, they cannot concentrate on their learning.

Please help me help my students by providing healthy snacks.

I have many students from diverse backgrounds and they don't always have the means for extra snacks. I want my students to be able to focus on their learning instead of worrying about when they might get to eat again.
