Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work in a title I school, which means all my students live in a low income neighborhood. My experience this year working with third graders dual language students has shown me that these students need more protein and calories in order to function properly all day, especially during assessments time, since they have to do it in both languages English and Spanish.
My goal for this new project is to have enough healthy snacks that will provide them with the necessary energy and concentration for those days where their brains are working double because they have to do assessments in English and in Spanish.
My students are special not only because most of them are new comers and the rest are second language learners but also because they are always prepare for doing their best in school even if sometimes their stomachs are empty.
