Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have been working hard and making great strides. They are also very caring and always want to help whenever possible.

We want to stop hunger in our school community by creating a school pantry where students can access food and snacks.

The students will be in charge of handling all the food and materials in an orderly manner where everything is easily accessible. The students will create a schedule for recess and after school. They will make posters and flyers to post throughout the school. They will also make weekly announcements letting their peers know about the pantry. Having students take charge makes them accountable and empowers them to make a change.

Snacks such Crystal Geyser Natural Alpine Water, chips, cookies, bars, and candies will be placed in the wagon to be placed in our pantry room, where the students will be in charge of distributing the snacks to those needing them. The items that are not distributed will be put away in the ziploc bags and bins in order to conserve the freshness of the snacks. This is a great way to start eliminating hunger in our school community.
