My school is a school within a school, though we contain vanguard students at 4th -7th grade and we will add 8th grade next year. Our campus is still considered a high poverty campus. However, all our students know that their environment does not define them. It is their will and determination.
Our campus is a Title I school and over 90% of our students receive reduced or free lunch.
Though they are considered to be "disadvantaged", we strive daily to provide each student with the "advantage" of a rigorous education instructed by high qualified teachers. Our students carry within them seeds of greatness and we believe it is up to every adult on campus to water and nurture that seed so that it will blossom into productive, global citizens.
Our campus camera was stolen and along with it, many photographs of school events and activities. This won't replace the memories lost, but it will help remake new lasting memories that can be shared with faculty, staff, students, parents and community through our website, newsletters, and video. Finally, at the end of the year, we culminate the successes and celebrations with during our final awards celebration with a massive video produces from all of the many photographs that have been take during the year. It is one of our most treasure highlights and the school year comes to an end.
