This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from across the globe and face enormous challenges. We are a high poverty school and my students come from many backgrounds. Many are English learners and speak Spanish, Korean, Bengali, Tagalog, Russian, and more as their first language.
My students are a bright, motivated and incredibly diverse group of middle school students.
I am inspired by their hard work and dedication to learning. In the face of challenges, they are very resilient.
As a language arts teacher, I want to bring my love of literature, writing, and character development to my students as they navigate growing up in Los Angeles.
My Project
A document camera is an ingenious device that can be used in many ways. It connects to our projector and makes whatever is on our our technology cart visible to the entire class.
This device is great for sharing student work with the whole class!
This will be especially helpful for sharing annotations in our book, student's notes, writing, highlights, drawings, and much more. It works in real time so whatever we write will be easily seen for everyone.
In our class, we use a variety of Keynotes and videos to share visually. One thing that has been lacking is a way to share student work that is written. A document camera will fill this need and make sharing our work a breeze. That's a reason to smile!
