This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As we enter the summer and approach a new academic year in September, I would like to provide a clean space for my students. A well-kept and clean environment contributes to a healthy mindset, where children feel safe to explore their space and interact with classmates. With the onset of Covid, we are well aware of the need to sanitize our area and practice better personal hygiene. Washing hands when necessary, and wearing gloves during the science lab experiments is a practice that my students have become very familiar with. However, with that routine comes the depletion of supplies. Many of my kids, unfortunately, do not come to school with hand sanitizer, facial tissues, and ready-to-use wipes to clean the desks before they settle into their workspace. My hope is to provide them with such a space that will foster a worry-free state of mind, void of over precaution because there is doubt whether the area they are about to occupy is sanitary.
