My Project
Our ENL (English as a New Language) Students must take the NYSESLAT, the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test, every spring. This exam determines students' placement in their ENL classes the following school year. This exam consists of 4 parts: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. The Speaking portion is done individually, whereas the Listening, Reading, and Writing portions of the exam are given over three days.
Many of our students have never taken a NYSESLAT exam due to the Covid-19 Pandemic or because they have newly entered the state and are extremely nervous!
This exam process can be stressful, nerve-racking, and overwhelming. Please help us give each student a goodie bag with nerds, smarties, a pencil, and a motivational sticker before they begin this three-day test-taking process.
