My students have so many obstacles to overcome I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.
I teach at a Title I school in Middle Georgia where over 70% of our students receive free or reduced lunch and 100% receive free breakfast.
Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend, and our school also collects donations for the food pantry for our families. Despite so many hardships, many students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
The Casio 115ES is the simplest calculator to use in solving trigonometry and quadratics. Additionally, this calculator has a fraction button and convert to decimal and back to fraction button.
Students work hard enough just learning the Geometry standards and don't need to get bogged down with confusing calculators.
Currently we have a very old set of graphing calculators that would be perfect if we were an Algrebra class instead of Geometry. Unfortunately the settings Geometry students need are hidden in sub-menus that are difficult to find. A set of appropriate calculators would will help my students achieve at a higher level!
