This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are young, active and motivated learners. They live and attend school in an urban area with high crime. They look forward to learning in school, because it's the safest environment for them. Every year, I re-evaluate the needs of my classroom. I do this to make sure that my students are given the best opportunities to grow, even if it means purchasing items out of my own pocket.
My preschool children are thirsty for knowledge.
They deserve so much!
My Project
Drawing has never been one of my strong points, but creativity is. Often, teachers have a cookie cutter project that doesn't allow students to use their own ideas.
I want to encourage my students to use art materials in a way that inspires them.
If my project is funded, the children could use the vibrant bingo dabbers, glue sticks, colorful jewels and art drawers to make something their proud of.
Picasso once said, "Every child is an artist." Albert Einstein said, "Creativity is contagious, pass it on." I would love for my students to have the opportunities to get smart with art!
