My Project
Over the past couple of years I have made it my mission to allow my students more opportunities to be creative in my classroom. With so many of their toys being battery operated, it takes away some of the creative aspects of play and their imaginations are not what they used to be. I am hoping to refill my art supply cabinet with new tempera paint, liquid watercolors, oil pastels, paint brushes and more.
The importance of the arts can not be denied.
They help children develop communication and language skills, increase creativity, and improve self-esteem. With these supplies, I will be able to give my students more opportunities to create in the classroom. We will be able to have free art time, but also have the ability to do art projects that tie into our curriculum. For example, when we learn about flowers, students can paint a field of flowers. These supplies will also help build fine motor skills, which is always so important in kindergarten!
